Below is a small REEP meeting recap:
- We have applications in English and in Spanish. To obtain more we can directly contact Ana at the REEP office. 832.393.8026.
- Processing time is approximately 1 week from recieving the application.
- There is a 3 phase process in which applicants are vetted, contractors or subcontractors do a site visit, then the actual work for weatherization takes place.
- If you are unemployed or a full time student you can obtain a declaration of income to verify that there is no income.
- Sheltering Arms (Harris County) also has a program that provides the same benefits, applicants may only choose one or the other once every 15 years.
- A home health inspection takes place before any weatherization which checkes for lead (paint), Carbon Monoxide, Mold, and other hazardous materials...
- Applications are to be filled out and either mailed or faxed to the office. (Faxing an application will result in a quicker response bc applications are processed daily.)
- Other than that... just follow the directions on the forms. Renters are able to apply. Proof of income is required and details are stipulated on the information handouts.
- Just a kind reminder. We need to try and sign-in and out as close as possible to 9.15/ 10.15 & 6.15/7.15. We are doing a great job at remembering to sign in and out for lunch and other occasions. Keep in mind, our upcoming timekeeping system Kronos will be rolling out in the near future.
- We have found lots of duplicates and triplicates of items from Stanaker, Flores, and Park Place particularly in Spanish. I'll be getting in contact with staff at the respective locations to see if they are interested in us returning their duplicate Spanish items as they arrive. I'm sure they miss them dearly. That and it is hard to make room for two more copies of the same book on an already tight shelf.
- 02/04/2010 - 206 forms & 605 forms for employees taking mandatory furloughs will be sent in with next week's time sheets.
- Employees that are exempt from the Mayors furlough plan will be paid as a normal work day unless they elect to take a Voluntary Furlough (FURV) day. (Roosevelt weeks)
- Reminder: Think about March in terms of scheduled time off. If you have anything in mind, please let me know by the end of the month so we can arrange for coverage....

- Carolyn was able to make it through Storytime without losing her voice. Yay!
- Mike took down a mountain of discards!
- Daisy assisted Esmeralda with preparing her Yoga proposal for HPL locations with Spanish speakers. (She wants to make sure we are her priority!)
- David Duller (Central) for providing coverage on Friday from 12-6!
- Team Melcher for making it through another week.
